Recommended way of working

As Rags to Riches will be new to your students, we suggest that you pique their interest with the Getting started activity in Episode 1. Then, before your students listen to each episode for the first time, we recommend you begin with the Intro section of Intros and outros. This consists of a motivational prediction activity which will aid students’ comprehension of the dialogue. The outro section can be completed after students have listened to the episode.

Each episode includes a song written by the band, reflecting a key element of the narrative. We would therefore advise listening to the song after the episode, and completing the On song worksheet. From then on, you can take your pick! Click on the link to the activity menu below to browse the activity types in each section.
